For generations, these two have watched over a quiet bend in the road — Frog Rock with his gentle gratitude, and Ladybug with her bright, mischievous spirit. To some, they’re old friends. To others, a new delight. Here, we simply invite you to meet them as we have: with warmth, wonder, and a smile.

Bainbridge Frog Rock celebrates a beloved local landmark and the creativity, friendship, and imagination that brought it to life. Through stories, community connection, and shared delight, we honor its history, uplift its creators, and invite everyone who smiles when they see it to be part of the story.

Beyond the bend lies a world where imagination has a home — a place where Frog Rock and Ladybug come alive in stories, adventures, and gentle bits of wonder. Step inside and let their companionship guide you into moments of joy, creativity, and childlike delight.

Every folk tale has its beginning. Ours started on a misty Bainbridge night in 1971, when two high-school sweethearts, Bob Green and Ellen Barnes, painted a pair of glacial boulders into a cheerful frog with a curlicue, red smile.

What began as a playful, late-night act of creativity soon became a beloved island friend, gathering decades of affection from neighbors, families, and visitors alike.

Today, we honor their joyful spark by keeping Frog Rock’s magic alive — through stories, community events, art, and the traditions that have grown around him ever since.
